Why I Choose to Work as a Nurse

It began with a simple desire to give back then it became a vocation

Being a nurse is one of the most important jobs I do, one that I am so proud of.

Helping people return to or as close to their best state of health is a great thing.

Making a positive impact in the lives of others is a beautiful thing.

My work has been influenced by things I see the coupled with my desire to help others attain and retain and maintain their health.

As a healthcare clinician, I find myself always giving advice on how their lives can be improved.

It has become an integral part of my work,

So much so that I find myself doing it even when I am not at work. Sometimes to the chagrin of my family members.

My work commands a huge percentage of my life and I would have it no other way.

Even when I am not at work I am still in a working frame of mind. This translates to me regularly sharing information and watching what I eat and do.

Sometimes that may extend to those who have not solicited my expertise, if they are receptive, I go ahead and share freely.

Nursing has become my life’s work.

My dream job is to be a full-time writer. To reach more people.

I would write my heart out.

I would write about the health of our mind, body, and soul. I would also write personal essays with similar takeaways.

Nothing gives me more satisfaction than sharing knowledge. To help just one person is a gift.

It is a beautiful thing to share scientific information that shows the relationship between the choices we make, our environment, and how those choices carry the power to influence our quality of life.
