What I learned from my startup experiment

I am part of an experimental incubator that gives startups and entrepreneurs funding in exchange for testing and sharing lean startup hypotheses.

ACTUALLY 19 of 139 people did this after clicking through to the Chrome Store. In total, 1187 potential meme creators were exposed to my AdWords campaign at an expense of $84.61 for an average cost to acquire a user installation of $4.45.

The MOST SURPRISING metric was my conversion rate increase from 1.7% in the week prior to the experiment to 2.8% over the course of the experiment. I BELIEVE this happened because I changed the first line of the Chrome Store description to emphasize Graffiti could make making memes fast and easy.

The only other variable that could have impacted the conversion rate was we turned off all non-meme AdWords campaigns so it could be that the need for a better method for creating memes was greater than the need for Graffiti by other use cases.
