Shared ViewModel in Android

Communication between Fragments in Android is very common thing. Almost every application has some communication between various fragments.

In this article, we will demonstrate how we can use the ViewModel in our application to communicate between various fragments in our application. We say it as SharedViewModel.

Let’s learn about Shared ViewModel in Android to communicate with other fragments. We will develop an application containing two fragments in which one fragment contains all the bookmark of URL's for website and another Fragment contains a Webview. Once click on any of the Urls, Livedata of shared Viewmodel with getting observes the changes on that data and displays the updated website in another fragment.

Step 1: Added fragment for Url into an listview.

Step 2: Add Webview in a fragment

Step 3: Add ViewModel that is going to share between two fragments

Step 4: SetUp both Fragments in Activity
