Talking

Drew and I were talking about making a Will, investment accounts for the kids, and why our parents got divorced & how you can never know whats going to happen.

When I was explaining to Drew that talking about a Will makes me sad because we have to think about who would have to take care of our kids if *knock on wood* anything happened to Drew and I. Drew was explaining that he doesn’t even think about that because he believes that nothing will happen to us. And, of course I believe that too, but I need to be prepared, just in case. BUTTTT, thinking about someone to take care of your kids is the worst thing to do. NO ONE IS GOOD ENOUGH. But, Drew said, we just have to pick someone. So we just have to pick someone.

Then, talking about how long our parents were together and why and how they broke up… made us talk about how things like that can happen to us. But, we always say it won’t, which I truly believe! Drew is my person, my best friend. Even when we don’t agree, which happened tonight, we come back to each other and talk it out. I asked Drew to apologize to Adley tonight, because i thought he was too harsh with her with something he said. And, he did… and Adley apologized to him for what she did. It made me cry. Adley is just to smart, loving and seems older than she is. Of course she’s 4, but she really shows a maturity that I dont see often. Or I’m just bias and is obsessed with my daughter, which is okay with me too.

I’m so grateful to have a partner that respects me, listens, and loves me for who I am. I love that man.
